Forkift & Material Handling Licence Training

Forklift licence: the skill every warehouse needs

Open yourself up to a world of opportunities with a forklift or material handling qualification. With a variety of courses to meet your needs, we can help you increase your earning potential.

A forklift and material handling qualification proves you can safely operate lift trucks, one of the most in demand skills across warehousing, logistics, manufacturing and construction. It is a recognised certificate of competence that employers actively look for, and it can lift both your job prospects and your earning potential. Because it is not tied to one site or employer, the qualification travels with you wherever the work is, and it pairs especially well with an HGV or LGV licence.

What Does a Forklift Cert Let You Do?

A forklift qualification lets you operate lift trucks across warehouses, distribution centres, factories and builders yards, moving and stacking loads that cannot be shifted by hand. It is one of the quickest skills to add to your CV and one of the most widely needed, so it opens steady work in almost every industry that stores or moves goods. Many operators use it as a foothold into warehousing before moving on to supervisor, shift or transport roles.

Forklift certificates are specific to the type of truck you train on, such as counterbalance, reach or pedestrian stacker, and you can add more types through conversion training as your role grows. It is an accredited certificate of competence rather than a government issued licence, awarded after you pass theory and practical assessment. The certificate is usually valid for three to five years, after which a short refresher renews it for another cycle.

For HGV and LGV drivers, a forklift qualification is especially valuable. More and more delivery work, from builders merchants to pallet networks, expects the driver to load and unload their own vehicle, and some lorries carry a forklift mounted on the back to do it. A driver who can handle both the lorry and the lift truck is far more useful to an employer, can take on better paid multidrop and site delivery work, and spends less time waiting on someone else to unload. Adding a forklift qualification alongside your HGV licence is one of the simplest ways to widen the jobs you can apply for.

Why Choose a Forklift or Material Handling Course?

A forklift qualification is one of the fastest and most affordable ways to boost your employability. Here is why it is worth booking:

Always in
Demand

Warehouses, factories and distribution centres across the country rely on trained forklift operators. It is a skill that keeps you employable whatever the wider job market is doing.

Boost Your Earning Potential

A recognised qualification opens better paid roles and more shifts than uncertified work. It is a small investment that quickly pays for itself.

Quick to
Qualify

Most qualifications are earned in days rather than weeks, so you can be trained, certified and working fast. It is one of the quickest routes into paid work there is.

A Foothold to Progress

Forklift work is often the way into a warehouse, with routes on to team leader, shift and transport roles. One qualification can be the start of a longer career.
