Adding a trailer to your C1 licence opens up a whole new range of work. Here is why it pays to take the next step:
C1+E lets you pull a full size trailer behind a 7.5 tonne vehicle, widening the loads you can carry.
Towing brings horsebox, recovery, plant and event work within reach.
If you already hold C1, this is an efficient next step rather than starting from scratch.
A driver who can tow is more useful and more employable than one who cannot.
This licence is about towing. It lets you pull a full size trailer behind a 7.5 tonne vehicle, which opens up larger horseboxes, vehicle recovery, plant transport and event logistics. For work that needs both load space and the ability to tow, it makes a single vehicle far more useful, and it puts you in demand for roles fewer drivers are qualified to do.
A Category C1+E licence covers a C1 vehicle towing a trailer over 750kg, with the whole combination weighing up to 12,000kg. You will need to hold a Category C1 licence first, and you can train from age 18.
